The people behind the “more babies” movement are actually worried that the white “race" will disappear if more white babies are’t born. This site, moms.gov, isn’t about birthrate. It’s pure racism. The .gov is obscene, but that’s where we are now.
OMG -- I had no idea! Thanks for this, Nancy. I'm reminded of what Andy Borowitz says frequently in his Substack, The Borowitz Report; I read [the news] so you don't have to. You investigated this - I didn't even know about it - and now I don't have to see it. This website and its blatant disregard for all that's involved in deciding whether to have children, including (maybe especially) to not have children, is no surprise to those of us who've been paying attention to all that this regime, led by the authoritarian-in-chief, has been promoting. Now that I know about this particular website, I - like you - will look for Dads.gov in June. It's easy to imagine just how regressive the info on that site will be.
I confess to not reading the Guardian as carefully as I could. There are so many days I feel totally overwhelmed by news sources that I only skim the surface. Knowing now that you found this there, I'll do a closer read going forward.
Nancy, thanks for sharing this. I've been reading about it in the press but didn't realize how bad it is and how quickly it is moving forward. Does anyone care about the babies after they are born? Are women just breeders? The Handmaiden's Tale is closer than we think.
I could vomit.
yep

Yes. And that's what I was suggesting. Most everyone's rights. It's all wrapped up.
Unbelievable. A few years ago this would have been dystopian fiction.
Right. And yes, unbelievable. But now it's believable.

I'm surprised how this slipped under the radar, actually. I found it reading The Guardian.

I miss a lot also. Believe me. It’s impossible.
It’s getting more alarming every day. Everyone in our country should read this post
And his people are winning tonight!

Yes it's about more than control over breeding.
It’s a cult, organized crime, burgeoning autocracy…pick one, pick them all, add to it. It’s horrible
and we have to find a way to stop them.
Yes, yes, and yes. Thanks for reading.
Just sickening.
Yes.
I. Can't. Stand. It. I'm with Rona.
Beyond what I ever anticipated.
Another in a longline of pigs with lipstick or whatever that Sarah Palin reference was. Thanks for taking a deep dive!
Thx for reading and commenting
Next up, unraveling the 19th Amendment. Women should make babies, not votes!
I wouldn't be surprised - and it's SO upsetting to imagine that.
It's all so gross.
And alarming.
