There are really two equally difficult transitions: The obvious one, and the one we all must go through psychologically and spiritually to accept the former. The latter requires Degree of empathy and grace, which is lacking both at the individual level and certainly right now at the national political level. I had my own personal experience with this some years back when a young man who I had known and worked with made the transition. It was challenging and difficult for me to face my own fears and prejudices. I’m glad I had the opportunity.
